How To Track AdSense Earnings In Individual Hubs: Add URL Channels Step By Step
69Set up AdSense URL Channels To Track Top Earning Hubs
Once you've published several hubs and begin making money with Google AdSense it's only natural that you would want to know exactly which hubs are earning you the most money. You'd definitely want to publish more of those particular kinds of hubs. Likewise you would want to know which hubs are earning the least amount of money. Or perhaps there are some that are not getting any AdSense earnings at all. Quite obviously, you'd want to edit, tweak and improve all those hubs to make them more profitable.
In Google AdSense, you can set up Custom channels or URL channels. The Custom channels deal with tracking performance on ad units. Those are not the ones this hub is addressing because HubPages automatically positions ad units and users do not have the ability to change ad positions.
AdSense URL Channels Overview
The URL channels are the ones we are going to discuss. "URL" channels can track a domain i.e. HubPages.com or a singe page URL can be tracked i.e. individual hubs. Google AdSense allows you to set up a maximum of 200 URL channels. That should be plenty for a beginner. However, if you have a large number of pages to track and need to change pages you want to track, you can stop tracking one and add another in it's place.
*** Update: Google has a new AdSense Interface in beta
Google Adsense has a new Interface in beta. This hub is covering the old interface. I will be checking into and writing a hub on how to add URL channels on the new Google AdSense interface. Thanks.
How To Set Up Google AdSense URL Channels: Step By Step
Step 1
The first step in setting up an individual hub as an URL channel is to sign in to your Google AdSense account at www.google.com/adsense.
Step 2
Once logged in, the Reports page will display. To begin, click on the tab at the top of the page labeled "AdSense Setup".
Step 3
The Google AdSense Setup page will appear. From here, click the link labeled "Channels".
Step 4
The Channels page will appear. The Custom channels page will show by default. To get to the URL channels page, click the link labeled, "URL channels".
Step 5
You are now on the URL channels page. Any previously added URL channels will display. To add new URL channels, click the link labeled, "+Add new URL channels".
Step 6
The Add URL channels page will appear. Here you can type in or copy and paste individual hub URLs you want to track. Remember to enter URLs one per line. When you're finished adding URLs, click the "Add channels" button. The URLs will now appear in the list and they will start being tracked almost immediately. (However, it may take a while for your data to be displayed) Click on the "Reports" tab at the top of the page to take you back to the "Reports Overview" page.
Step 7
On the "Reports Overview" page click on the link labeled "top channels". A list will appear showing your top AdSense earning hubs. [Not shown here due to Google's TOS.]
Stats for each URL will appear for "Page impressions", "Clicks", "Page CTR", "Page eCPM", and "Estimated earnings". To see a report showing data for all URLs, click "View all AdSense for content channels".
Now You Know How To Track AdSense Earnings On Each Hub
Google AdSense URL channels are very helpful tools to help you keep track of your AdSense earnings of each of your individual hubs. Now you can see which hubs make you the most AdSense money. Hopefully this short, step by step guide has given you all the information you need to determine your best paying hubs and to write more like them. This is awesome thanks a lot.
Thanks for the info. You really clarified this for me.
Thanks a lot! Just needed that.
I finished all of the steps, but it still won't work. When I click on all channels, all it shows is "hubpages.com." When I click on view all, it shows all my links but still won't give any stats regardless of what I do. Any ideas?
Thanks. I'm learning, and this site has been a lot of help.

Thanks for the Hub, very useful. I've put it to use already.
Thanks, I am going to attempt doing this right now. Very helpful and easy to understand, I think I can do this. I have been wondering for some time now how to now what I am earning here on hubpages. Wish I had searched this earlier. Thanks again
I wonder if tracking individual hubs is going to become as essential as SEO and link building for Web 2.0 sites; it would definitely help to identify what works and what doesn't.
Very helpful hub, thanks for the information.
It was a very simple and easy to follow hub. Thanks for sharing it.
