Sure Fire Way To Increase Web Traffic

In order to make more money online and HubPages you need to increase web traffic. I’ve been involved online for several years. I’ve been somewhat successful in a few areas such as selling on eBay, and affiliate marketing. However, I haven’t invested much time or effort in trying to increase web traffic to my various blogs, websites, and now articles (Hubs). A goal of mine is to make more money online so, I'm starting to focus in on this area. There has already been a lot of good articles and Hubs written on how to increase web traffic. I’ve read some of them and I am trying out some of their methods. This Hub is my two cents worth of advice on just a small portion of this huge topic of how to increase web traffic. What I’m about to share is what I have personally experienced in my short time here on HubPages.

I have read and heard others say that if you want more people to visit your site, you need to give them something of value. You need to help them by solving a particular problem they have or provide an answer to a nagging question that may be driving them nuts. If you want to increase web traffic, you need to look at things from a visitor’s or reader’s perspective. You need to think about what you can do for them. It's all about them, not you. After you realize that you need to help someone or solve a problem they have, it doesn’t end there. The problem has to be one that a lot of people have, and one that people need or want the answer to. For example, there probably aren’t that many people out there who would care to know "how to stand on your hands".

Solve a common problem and you will increase web traffic. I saw this happen first hand without realizing what I was doing. I recently wrote a “how to” Hub. I showed step by step how I solved a problem that had been very frustrating. I know the same problem was giving other people headaches too because I read some of the comments and questions they were leaving in forums and on message boards. So, I wasn’t alone in trying to figure out the answer. I also, searched Google for the answer to the problem. The sites that came up really didn’t explain clearly how to fix the problem. Also, some of the fixes involved CSS or HTML code that I didn’t want to bother with. Eventually, I settled for a secondary way of doing what I wanted. It still didn’t solve my problem, but I let it go. Then one day I saw that a new feature was added to a program that solved the problem everyone was having. I simply shared the answer with others by writing a Hub giving step by step instructions with screen shots. That Hub is turning out to be one of my better ones because a lot of other people are searching for the answer to that very same problem. I’m getting ever increasing web traffic to that Hub now.

Here’s the bottom line to this Hub. The answer to the question of how to increase web traffic is to share information with readers that is of value to them. I encourage you to share valuable information with others. It is key to increasing web traffic. You may not think that you know very much, but you do whether you realize it or not. There are always newbies out there who don’t have a clue about how some particular things are done and they would love to know what you know. Someone said that they had already figured out how to solve the problem I was speaking about above. Perhaps that person didn’t know that there were many others who couldn’t figure it out and needed some help, so that person didn’t even think to write a Hub about it. That was a missed opportunity. Never undervalue yourself. Yes, there are some people who know more than you do and would probably scoff at your little ‘ol “how to” Hub, but there are also lots of newbies who will appreciate your work and thank you for sharing what you know. If they don’t let you know by notes or comments, they will by clicking on your Hub title which will in return increase web traffic to your Hub.

I realize there is much more to cover on the topic of how to increase web traffic. I said at the beginning that this Hub is just a small part of a huge topic. Some people are thinking about keywords, tags, summaries, and yada, yada, yada. Those things are very important. However, if you had all that perfectly done, but your content turns out not helping the reader nor a proper solution to their problem, then your content (with it’s perfect keywords and all) isn’t going to do them nor you any good in the end.

After we've written great Hubs sharing "valuable" information with others. We want searchers to:

• Do a Google search and have at least one of our Hubs appear on the first page of results.
• We want the searcher to click on our Hub title and increase web traffic to our Hub.
• We want them to read our Hub page, get value from reading it, click our ads or offers.
• We want them to purchase the product or service advertised.
• Lastly, we would like to see our pay or commission deposited in our account.

Yay! So, now let’s just do it!
