An Alternative Cancer Treatment: Herbal Essiac Tea Formula & Nurse Rene Caisse
77Alternative cancer treatment from an Indian medicine man.
Rene Caisse was a Canadian nurse who discovered a formula of four specific herbs that cured cancer in many of her patients. Rene Caisse was the head nurse of the Sisters of Providence Hospital in Ontario Canada in 1922 when she first learned of this formula. One day one of her nurses was bathing a patient. This patient was an 81 year old English woman. Rene Caisse noticed the woman had scar tissue on one of her breast and asked the patient how she got it. The English woman told her that she had breast cancer 30 years prior, but was healed by drinking an herbal tea told to her by an Indian medicine man. About a year later nurse Caisse’s aunt developed stomach cancer. The aunt was told she only had six months to live. Caisse remembered what the 81 year old patient told her about being healed of cancer by the Indian medicine man’s herbal formula. With the consent of her aunt’s doctor, Rene Caisse gave up her head nurse position at the hospital and began treating her aunt using the herbal formula as an alternative cancer treatment. It worked. The cancer was cured and Caisse’s aunt lived 21 years after that.
The original formula Caisse received from the English woman is believed to have its roots from the native Canadian Ojibway Indians. However, Caisse developed her version of the formula and named it Essiac which is her last name spelled backwards. She was offered a million dollars for her formula, but she never sold it nor profited financially from it. The herbs she used in Essiac tea are Burdock Root, Slippery Elm, Sheep Sorrel and Indian Rhubarb Root.
Rene Caisse opens successful cancer clinic.
After the successfulalternative cancer treatmentand cancer cure of Caisse’s aunt, other doctors sought her out to treat other cancer patients who were given no hope of survival. After a while, a doctor in Rene Caisse’s hometown persuaded the town to open a clinic using her formula to treat cancer patients. In order to open the clinic they had to agree to treat patients free of charge and the patients had to have a doctor’s diagnosis. The clinic was opened in 1934. She treated thousands of cancer patients who poured in from all over. The clinic was very successful, but with it came persecuted and harassment by the orthodox medical establishment. She was threatened with arrest for “practicing medicine without a license” numerous times even though she always treated patients under the observation of doctors after the patient was diagnosed by a qualified doctor. Regarding the cure for cancer, Rene Caisse was warned by an orthodox doctor that the medical profession would, "never let you do this to us". In 1938 she was called before the legislature to determine Essiac's legal status. She and patients collected 55,000 signatures on a petition. However the legalization of the Essiac treatment lost by three votes.
Medical establishment's fight against Rene Caisse & Essiac.
The orthodox medical establishment continued to fight against Essiac and Rene Caisse. They wanted to shut the clinic down. The clinic operated for 8 1/2 years, but the establishment in the form of the so-called cancer commission, was finally able to shut it down by intimidation and lies. They made claims that doctors misdiagnosed patients as having cancer. So, according to their claims the cancer patients weren’t cured because they never had it to start with. Doctors who once worked with Rene Caisse on cancer patients, then stopped making diagnosis because they didn’t want to be accused by the cancer commission of misdiagnosing patients. The clinic eventually shut down because in order to receive treatment, the patients had to have a doctor’s diagnosis. The clinic closed in 1942.
Rene Caisse was a modest, generous woman who courageously fought for those who were given up on by the orthodox cancer establishment. She was able to treat thousands of cancer patients and see many of them healed. Not only was her aunt cured of cancer, but her mother who was given only days to live was cured and brought back to health by using the Essiac formula as an alternative cancer treatment. Rene Caisse passed away December 26, 1978, at 90 years of age.

I used Flor-Essence to successfully treat myself when I had a condition called sarcoidoisis. It is similar to cancer, but has what are called 'non-caseating granulomas', which basically means that these growths are not malignant, but they did cause me problems with my lungs. The Medical Establishment makes too much money from cancer 'treatment' and cancer 'research' to allow someone from the outside to spoil their racket. Unfortunately, the unwitting cancer patient is the victim, and pays for their obscene profits with his life. He gets poison masquerading as medicine, and dies a painful, agonizing death. It is a human tragedy, and I really hate it.
great article. Thank you for sharing your recipe for Essiac tea. I'm all for alternative therapy for healing the body.
When I was diagnosed with Leukaemia and choose to take an alternative route one of many "cures" which kept coming up was Essiac Tea. I had success largely following ideas from the Gerson Therapy, but Essiac Tea is one of the alternative treatments that I have kept up my sleeve in case I need to look at another route in the future; I heard so much positive feedback on it.
